An artist whose work exists between timeless musicianship and experimentation, FKJ has built a singular musical world that blurs the worlds of jazz, soul, classical, hip-hop, funk, rock and electronic influences. As a result, his music continues to connect with a global audience drawn to both its technical intricacy and intimate atmosphere.

‘Soulmates’ arrives as the first glimpse into Tyber – a project that captures a period of personal and creative transformation following the release of his acclaimed album V I N C E N T. Written and recorded across multiple continents, the album reflects years spent navigating movement, solitude, collaboration and renewal. Sessions took place in London, Los Angeles, Paris, Brazil and Mexico, with each location subtly shaping the sonic identity of the record.

The result is FKJ at his most expansive and uninhibited. Across Tyber, groove-driven compositions sit alongside jazz-led instrumentals, sample-heavy explorations and more direct songwriting moments, moving seamlessly through funk, alt-pop, R&B and psychedelic textures without ever losing cohesion. The album feels both deeply personal and globally informed, spotlighting an artist documenting his evolution in real time.

New single ‘Soulmates’ embodies that spirit. Warm, immersive and rhythmically fluid, the track highlights FKJ’s instinctive approach to composition while offering a natural introduction to the wider world of Tyber. It is music rooted equally in technical musicianship and emotional immediacy, which is a balance that has become central to his appeal.

“‘Soulmates’ is about embracing your solitude,” says FKJ. “For me, solitude really works, and I’m taking time with myself. But I really care about my soulmates, the people in my life who are important to me. It’s all about finding the balance.”

The forthcoming album also features an expansive list of collaborators including Lucy Park, Baby Rose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane and Labrinth, further reflecting the breadth of influences and perspectives woven throughout the project.

Over the course of his career, FKJ has earned widespread acclaim for redefining the boundaries of contemporary French electronic music. Often recognised as a pioneer of the New French House movement, he has developed a signature style built around live instrumentation, improvisation, looping and richly layered production. His French heritage remains a defining thread throughout his work, even as his music continues to absorb inspiration from cultures and communities around the world.

Beyond the studio, FKJ has cultivated a devoted international following, amassing over 2.5 million YouTube subscribers and becoming renowned for the immersive visual and musical experience of his live performances.
Nearly a decade after his last performances in the region, FKJ returns to Australia and New Zealand, bringing the world of Tyber to audiences through the dynamic, free-flowing performances that have become synonymous with his name.
