Jenevieve – The Tuning Fork, 6 June 2026: Review & Photo Gallery

Jenevieve brought her signature blend of old-school charm and contemporary flair to The Tuning Fork on Saturday, 6 June. Delivering a soulful performance that drifted effortlessly through a room packed with devoted fans.

The Los Angeles singer-songwriter, known for her smooth fusion of R&B, pop and soul, rose to prominence with her 2020 breakout single Baby Powder. Now touring her second album, Chrysalis, she arrived in Auckland to an audience that clearly knew her music.

Opening the evening was Sydney-based artist, DJ and radio presenter Mowgli May. Launching straight into a DJ set without introduction, she quickly got the crowd moving. Her selection of R&B hits set the tone for the night, with audience members singing along and dancing from the outset.

When Jenevieve took the stage, she was greeted with an immediate wave of excitement. Moving effortlessly across the stage with smooth dance moves, she delivered a set filled with silky vocals.

Early highlight was Head Over Heels, with fans enthusiastically singing every word back to her. Throughout the set, it became increasingly clear that this wasn’t a casual audience – these were genuine fans who knew the music intimately. During tracks such as Résumé, the crowd confidently carried entire lines, creating memorable moments.

With occasional pauses between songs as backing tracks were prepared, the audience remained fully engaged and responding enthusiastically throughout the set.

One fan shared that they had discovered her music through a Spotify recommendation two years ago – a reminder of how many artists are found. For other fans, this was a chance to dress up and feel the vibe.

As a solo performer, Jenevieve proved she has the voice and presence to command a room. Yet what made the evening particularly special was the energy coming back from the audience.

Closing with Baby Powder, the song that introduced many listeners to her music, Jenevieve closed the night on a high, with all fans rushing into the room – singing and dancing.
