Death Chemist – Monster Reborn Album Release Show – Big Fan, 29 May 2026: Photo Gallery

Auckland’s own Death Chemist returned to the stage at Big Fan last Friday to celebrate the release of their second full-length album, Monster Reborn. Known for blending heavy rock, theatrical performance, and genre-defying songwriting, the band delivered a set that showcased both the ambition and creativity that have made them one of the more distinctive acts in New Zealand’s underground music scene.

Death ChemistDrawing from the album’s themes of inner conflict, dark thoughts, and the voices that lurk within the mind, Death Chemist transformed the intimate Morningside venue into a fitting backdrop for an evening of powerful music and striking stagecraft.

The night opened with a strong lineup of local talent. Auckland three-piece Mistress brought their hard-hitting blend of rock ‘n’ roll attitude and raw energy, setting the tone early. Their single Dirty Bastards is one of their best-known songs.

Capricore followed with their unique mix of alternative rock and glam influences, delivering a show, packed with personality and flair. Front man Aidan Ripley is an eccentric, charismatic performer, who knows exactly how to captivate the audience.

Rounding out the support bill, Run It Straight injected a dose of uncompromising hardcore intensity that had the crowd fully engaged before the headliners took the stage. They delivered uncompromising riffs and crushing breakdowns, earning them a reputation of becoming one of Auckland’s most energetic merging heavy bands.

From the first note to the final encore, the evening was a celebration not only of Monster Reborn but also of the strength and diversity of Auckland’s live music community. These photographs capture some of the energy, atmosphere, and memorable moments from a night that marked an important milestone for Death Chemist and a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

We are very blessed with so much amazing talent!
