On our road trip across the USA we went to Tulsa, and stopped in at the Mercury Lounge to check out some local live music. We we welcomed by Big Fish, who was collecting money for the band that night. We checked with him that it would be ok to take some photographs to post on Red Raven News before proceeding.
Once inside we found the band Pilgrim already on stage. Their original material is a great blend of country, rock, funk and blues, but they really don’t fit into any of those boxes. The front-man, Beau doesn’t like the band to be put in a box.
Tonight they were playing as cut-down four piece. Normally they will play as a six piece ensemble.
Beau is a natural storyteller and the bands music conveys a lot of the emotion behind those stories that are woven into the music.
