Red Raven photographer Leonie Moreland is on the road with Zephyr Love as they take on their second US tour. She’ll be checking in from time to time, letting us know how it’s going, and of course, documenting everything.
Let’s go! Day 1 San Francisco
I arrived in San Fran after a 12-hour bumpy flight with too much of ‘want caffeee’ from the air hostess. This was followed by a full-on interrogation by an immigration/border officer. Such a delight to walk out into an empty arrival lounge…
After taking a few deep breaths, I set out looking where I could book a nap room for 4 hours. Such a blessing… a comfortable clean bed in a small room without a view. Slept about 2.5 hours, had a hot shower and felt human again. About 3pm Zephyr Love arrived in their RV and picked me up.
They had a short gig at Make-Out Room in San Francisco that night. 3 bands on the bill. Sound and photography were a challenge but Zephyr Love pulled it off: they’re pros. The night is still young-ish….
2.30am…all are back in the RV and we’re on our way to an Oakland truck stop for water and shower…
But… Oakland was a no go… So… We drove to San Jose looking for water and a spot to park the RV.
4.52am we finally had success; water, a spot to park and catch a couple of hours sleep.
Breakfast at Denny’s!
Is this what we call Rock N Roll….hell yeah!
